Bastel Traum Design Team Challenge #53

Hi everyone! And welcome to the Bastel Traum Challenge #53, the subject of which is:

Men and Boys

In last month’s challenge post you watched me create a home décor project for my baby girl’s 1st birthday. It just so happens that my son was born in the month of May (and so were his two best buddies!) So coming up with a project for this challenge was no challenge at all for me!

To create this project I used the Pirate Pals Stamp Set from Sunny Studio Stamps along with my Silhouette Cameo 3. I started off by making a card for my soon to be 4-year-old boy and, thanks to my awesome Xyron Sticker Maker, he was able to join in the card-making fun by helping me create a couple of cards for his mates.

My favourite card is the one on the bottom right, where he decided the ship’s captain had taken the other wee pirate prisoner by putting him in a barrel! Which is your favourite? Do let me know in the comments section below!

I hope you enjoy today’s video and that it inspires you to play along with us for a chance to win a 15 CHF certificate to the Bastel-Traum.ch online shop. Happy crafting mateys!

Digitally-cut Retirement Card {Silhouette Cameo 3}

Hi peeps! And welcome back to another card making video.

I created this card for my office-mate and friend Martine, who will be retiring at the end of the month. I have shared an office with Martine for over a year now. During that time, Martine has not only been an amazing office-mate, but has also become a good friend who will be sorely missed.

Today’s card is slightly different, as I created it using my Silhouette Cameo 3 digital plotter. I got hold of a Cameo 3 a couple of months ago and hadn’t really put it to much use as I found the Silhouette Studio Software a bit daunting to begin with. However, last week I came across an amazing Silhouette YouTube channel in Spanish called “Planeta Silhouette” (and I know there are many other wonderful channels out there too!) and it encouraged me to give my Cameo 3 another go.

Today’s video by no means aims to be a tutorial on how to use your Cameo 3, but simply a way of sharing the creative process behind this card design, which could be easily replicated using regular dies. If you would like to see more videos of my digitally-cut creations, please leave me a comment and let me know about it!

Bonne retraite, Martine! Je te souhaite que le meilleur des bons vents t’accompagne tout au long de cette nouvelle aventure.

Happy digital crafting everyone!
