Hello Crafty Friends! And welcome back to another one of our monthly challenges, where you can play with us for a chance to win a 15 chf certificate to the Bastel Traum Online Shop (they ship worldwide!) This month’s challenge will run until 15 October 2018 at 8:45 am GMT+2 and the subject this month is: “Journey/Vacation”.
The card I created for today’s post will be for my office mate. She’s Australian and she will be heading back home for the holidays at the end of 2018. So I decided to make her a thank you for all your work and happy holiday card using the cute Australian-themed “G’day Mate” stamp and die set by Ellen Hutson and Avery Elle.
The sub-sentiment “Take it easy” is from the “Hang in there” stamp set by Lawn Fawn and I used the “Stitched Alphabet DIE-namics” by MFT to spell out “ENJOY”.
I created that stitched circle window in the middle of the card using my Lawn Fawn “Outside In Stitched Circle Stackable” dies and I added stitching to the edges of my card panel using a wonky stitches die (there are a few out there, mine is by Avery Elle).
That’s it for today! If you decide to play along with us, make sure to tag us on social media and link your holiday/travel themed creations over at the Bastel Traum Challenge blog. Until next time… happy trails!
Hello crafty friends! And welcome back to another Bastel Traum Challenge blog post, where you can play with us for a chance to win a 15 chf certificate to the Bastel Traum Online Shop (they ship worldwide!) This month’s challenge will run until 15 June 2018 at 8:45 am GMT+2 and the subject will be “Rainbow Colours / Fantasy”.
The subject of this month’s challenge was “Rainbow Colours or Fantasy”. I have seen so many beautiful rainbow cards lately, that I decided to work with the “Fantasy” theme instead (but do click here if you’re in the mood for rainbows!)
To create this card I used a few images from the “You Gnome Me” stamp set by MFT. I don’t actually own that set. My friend Nicole sent it to me last autumn, when we had a stamped-image swap ahead of one of Kathy Racoosin’s 30-day colouring challenges. It was such a fun experience and an affordable way to colour and play with a few stamps I haven’t bought yet and share a few of my own collection with a friend.
After I coloured my images with my Copic markers, I fussy-cut them out to position on my card. I used a shimmery blue card base, Lawn Fawn’s “Stitched Woodgrain Backdrop” die over some kraft cardstock for my front panel, the “Stacked Edges 1” dies by Pretty Pink Posh for my sentiment strip, and an actual sentiment from the “Fairy Friends” stamp set by Lawn Fawn.
What is your favourite fantasy-themed stamp set out there? Let me know in the comments section below. I do hope you’ll play with us in this month’s challenge. We look forward to seeing what you create!
Hello lovely peeps! Welcome to my blog and to day 5 in the Bastel-Traum Advent Calendar for 2017. Throughout the month of December, the Bastel-Traum Design Team, along with a few top-notch Guest Designers, will be bringing you lots of crafty inspiration for your year-end and holiday projects!
As the calendar year draws to a close, I find myself thinking of ways to thank the people who matter most in our lives. In the case of our little family, this includes the people who look after our two children while my husband and I are at work: my son’s teacher and teaching assistant (who will be receiving a set of handmade cards each this Christmas), but also my daughter’s nursery school teachers, my son’s after school care teachers, the school bus driver, the librarian, etc. Since our budget doesn’t stretch out to too many big presents, and my schedule simply doesn’t allow to make a set of handmade cards to gift to every single one of them, I will be making sure they each get one of these Christmas-themed thank you cards with a little chap-stick included.
To create this card, I used a few crafty products from a bunch of different brands. First off, I threaded a bit of red baker’s twine through a little hole on the front/left of my card and tied a little bow with it on the front/right of my card. I made sure it would stay put by adding a dot of Ranger Glossy Accents to it to the back of my knot. I then cut out the hole for my chap sticks and inserted them in using the “Die-namics Lip Balm Window and Frame” and “Lip Balm Pouches” by My Favorite Things. I then stamped my “Thanks” panel using the “Many Thanks” turnabout stamp by Concord & 9th and four colours of ink: red, green and grey, followed by Versamark ink and a coat of gold embossing powder. Last but not least, I cut out my stamped panels into strips of 3 columns and adhered them to my card front using some double-sided foam tape.
And that’s my project for today! I will write a short message on the inside of my cards, slip them into some clear cellophane envelopes and hand them out to those people who matter most during the last week of the year. Please remember to visit the Bastel-Traum Blog for more creative ideas and stop by the Bastel-Traum Online Shop to find all your crafty materials (they ship worldwide.) Until next time!
Hi everyone! And welcome back to another Bastel Traum Challenge, where you can play along with us for a chance to win a 15 chf to the Bastel Traum Online Shop.
The subject of this month’s challenge is “Thanks” – a perfect theme for autumn and for those of you celebrating Thanksgiving – and so it is that I have created this “Teacher Thank You Card”.
My son started school 6 weeks ago and he’s about to break for a week. He’s taken such big leaps in his writing and general learning that I felt a thank you card for his teacher would be appropriate. I have used a bunch of products from quite a few different cards in this project: a background stamp from MFT; that notebook page stamp, the thank you sentiment stamp and the little star dies from Sunny Studio Stamps; and the pencil die set from Paper Smooches.
I will have a process video and full product details later this week so please check back in a couple of days! In the mean time, make sure to stop by the Bastel Traum Challenge blog for more inspiration from our amazing Design Team. Until next time!
