¡Feliz cumpleaños a mí! feat. dies in Spanish

Today is my birthday. That’s right, I’m a year wiser today and I love it! I love birthdays and I love celebrating my own one too. When I was little I would get SO excited in the days preceding my birthdays: my mum and I would plan my party, put together my guest list and so on. Such was the anticipation that I almost invariably would break down in tears on the actual day, halfway through the party, as all eyes were on me! Thankfully I’ve grown out of the habit of breaking down on my birthday and I’m celebrating with you all with this cute birthday card in Spanish, since I celebrated my birthday in Spanish until I moved abroad a few years back.

I didn’t actually create this card for myself. In fact, this is the third of the three cards I created with the repeat background panels I put together whilst creating my Design Team project for the last Bastel Traum Challenge. Feel free to click on the links in this sentence to check out the first and second cards.

I created this card by repeat-stamping a few of the little images included in the “Bear and Bird” stamp set by Waffle Flower Crafts with grey ink. I then covered my background panel with a piece of vellum cut out using the largest die in my “Lacy Layers 2 Die” set, also by Waffle Flower Crafts. I then stamped, coloured and fussy-cut the bear, bird and flower pot also included in that stamp set, and adhered them on to my card panel using some foam squares. The sentiment in Spanish is by Micaela Ferrero. I absolutely love the quality of her products in Spanish and recommend them to anybody out there in search of sentiments to stamp and die cut in Spanish (I recently raved about them in this other blog post entitled “Sentiments in Spanish, feat. Gerda Seiner Designs). And that’s just about it! I’ll tell you a bit more about how I celebrated my birthday and perhaps do a Happy Mail video in the upcoming days to show off all of my crafty friend’s lovely creations! Birthday hugs to you all and thanks for stopping by today.

Sentiments in Spanish, featuring Gerda Steiner Designs

Hello crafty friends! Since I was too late to enter last month’s Gerda Steiner’s Monthly Challenge, I decided to use their challenge image to enter this month’s Share Your Designs Challenge.

Last month I visited my friend Ute on the other side of the country and she introduced me to Gerda Steiner Designs’ super cute range of clear rubber stamps, dies and digital stamps. Not only that, but Ute (who happens to be an AMAZING colour pencil artist) gave me a quick pencil colouring tutorial which encouraged me to get my colour pencils out again and continue practising! If you like colour pencils, make sure to check out my Ute’s blog. So although this card is in Spanish, I have decided to dedicate it to Ute!

Now, if you happen to be a Spanish-speaker (like me) and are always on the lookout for card sentiments in Spanish, you also need to check out Micaela Ferrero‘s blog, YouTube channel and online shop. Micaela is a lovely Latina (just like me!) and has an awesome range of great quality stamps and big word dies. The sentiment on this card reads “Spread smiles whenever you can“.  It goes beautifully with this cheeky little mouse’s smile, don’t you think?

So there you have it, a couple of awesome links and a bit of colour pencil inspiration for those of you who, like me, can sometimes feel intimidated by knowing they still need a lot of practice at something (in my case, pencils)!
