For my design team project this month I am bringing you a “Happy fall” card created with supplies from two of my favourite brands: Heffy Doodle and Lawn Fawn (available in Switzerland too!) For this card I used Heffy Doodle’s last Stamptember’s set, along with Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Border Dieand their Happy Fall Line Border Die. However, you don’t need the exact same supplies to recreate this project (read on!)
This card was inspired on a project by a fellow IG crafter @handmadebymirella and it’s a perfect example of how you can recreate a project even if you don’t have the exact original supplies. Instagram is a great source of inspiration for my crafts. It’s a great place to meet other crafters around the world, make friends and find projects that you love and want to recreate.
Where do you tend to find your inspiration? Let me know in your comments below and make sure to join our challenge this month and tag us on social media so we can check out your beautiful creations. Until next time… happy fall!
Hello Heffy Doodlers! It’s release day for the Heffy Doodle and Simon Says Stamp exclusive 2018 Stamptember set, HOORAY! Lesley has designed an absolute beauty for Heffy Doodle’s first Stamptember set (perfect for fall/autumn and winter projects in particular, but not limited to them!)
As you can see here, the set includes three little critter images (scroll down to the bottom of this post to check it out): a squirrel, a raccoon (Lesley’s favourite animal, by the way!) and a reindeer, along with lots of autumn/fall and wintery accessories for them to hold or to help you create your scenes.
I decided to use the little squirrel for my card today given that squirrels are probably my favourite critters. (BTW, full credit for this card idea goes to my crafty friend and sister-in-law Harriet. We were brainstorming together last weekend and she was the one who suggested I use a little umbrella to shelter my squirrel from the falling autumn leaves. Thank goodness Heffy Doodle’s “Beary Big Heart” stamp set includes a perfectly-sized one!)
For my sentiment strip I used the largest strip from Heffy Doodle’s “Stitched Strips of Ease” Heffy Cuts dies and I stamped the sentiment “I love you”, followed in the inside of my card by “You won’t be-leaf how much” on one line. Just below that I also stamped the sub-sentiment “(That’s a lot!)”.
I’m sure this set is going to be a total hit and I can’t wait to see what you guys create with it. Remember to tag Heffy Doodle on social media so we can continue to admire your beautiful creations. And before I say goodbye, my heart goes out to Lesley for letting me be a part of this adventure and to Heidi over at SSS for Stamptember and all the crafty joy, anticipation and most of all excitement that surrounds it! Until next time :o)
