Happy, Happy, Happy Summer! – Bastel-Traum Challenge # 67

Hello Crafty Friends! And welcome back to another one of our monthly challenges, where you can play with us for a chance to win a 15 chf certificate to the Bastel Traum Online Shop (they ship worldwide!) This month’s challenge will run until 15 August 2018 at 8:45 am GMT+2 and the subject is easy-peasy this month: “Anything Goes”.

My project for this month’s challenge is a sweet little summer card.

I created this card using a combination of products from some of my favourite crafty companies. The little girl and the stamped sentiment are from the “Summer friends” stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh; I created the big “SUMMER” sentiment using the “Stitched alphabet” die set by MFT; and my scalloped frame is part of a set by Waffle Flower Crafts called “Lacy layers 2 die“.

To create the sand line I used a stamp set by Sunny Studio Stamps called “Oceans of joy“, whilst the little seagulls I sketched myself by hand.

I hope you’ve enjoyed it and that it inspired you to get crafty and play along with us this month.

And make sure you check out the beautiful projects by the other Bastel Traum DT members. From dragons to helicopters, you are sure to find something that inspires you to create today. Until next time, happy crafting!

Summer Shadow Box Card – Lawn Fawnatics Challenge # 32

Hello fellow Lawn Fawnatics! I hope you are enjoying the summer and all enjoying all the wonderful things this season has to offer. Today I’m bringing you a summer-themed shadow box card created with Lawn Fawn’s “Shadow Box Card Die“.

To create the little waves that the duckies are surfing on I used the “Stitched Waves Borders” and some “Perfectly Plaid” teal paper, also by Lawn Fawn. The duckies themselves are from the “Easter Party” stamp set. The coral images, the banner and the stamped sentiment come from various different sets in my collection.

AI put this card together using some duckies I had previously coloured and die-cut, and it was only when I was done creating that I realised my project was a perfect fit for the current Lawn Fawnatics colour inspiration challenge!

My inspiration for this project was a phrase in Spanish my mum used to always say to me when, as a kid, she would put me in the bathtub: “¡Al agua, patos!” It doesn’t meant much, it’s just a cutesy thing to say in Spanish, and since I’m planning to send my card to a Spanish friend, the theme is simply perfect!

Have you ever used a fond memory as inspiration for a card project? If so, let me know in the comments below. It’s such a great way to personalise our projects for specific recipients!

Happy summer and I look forward to your Lawn Fawnatic entries too! Until next time…

A “Just Because” Card (and a confession from a Netflix crafter!)

(This blog post appeared on the Heffy Doodle blog on 9 July 2018)

Hello Heffy Doodlers! And welcome back to the Heffy Doodle blog, where you can find tons of inspiration to put your collection of Heffy Doodle goodies to good use!  Today I’m bringing you what I call I “just because” card which could be used for a number of occasions: from a simple summer hello to our crafty friends across the miles, to an encouragement card for a friend recovering from one of life’s rougher rides.

To put together this little project I used the Yappy Happy Mail stamp set (there are coordinating dies for it too!), and two of my favourite Heffy Cuts word dies: “sending” and “love“. Once I had die cut my words, I applied some Glossy Accents (which you can no pick up at our store, too!) to give it that puffy sticker look. The little butterfly stamps I used as finishing touches are from our “Hunny Bunny Boo” stamp set

(“Suits” spoiler alert!) And now for confession time! If I was to do this card again, I would most likely use my cloud stencil, a blue distress ink and my ink blender to add a cloudy background to my card (just like Cassie did on this project). However, the day I made this card I had “Suits” playing on the background. Unfortunately for my card, Rachel had just kissed Logan and I was so enthralled with the plot that I started merrily adhering away my images and forgot about my clouds! Still, I love my card and I think the white background helps the sentiment pop. Has this ever happened to any of you?! Confession time ladies!!! Let us know in the comments section below. Until next time, happy heffy doodling!

Celebrating Heffy Doodle 1st birthday + June Release

Hello Heffy Doodlers! And thanks for joining us for this amazing first birthday celebration. Heffy Doodle is one year old and it’s all thanks to you!  We’ve got TONS of inspiration for you today and an awesome line-up (full list at the bottom of this post). Plus, what’s a blog hop without a prizeTwo lucky Heffy Doodlers will receive a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle online shop, so please leave us some crafty love at each stop in order to qualify. And if you’re not our lucky winner this time, remember you can still receive 20% off all orders placed on the Heffy Doodle store, by entering the discount code: HeffyBirthday2u (valid June 13th -17th 2018). You should have arrived here from Angelica Conrad‘s blog and your next stop is the amazing Sandy Allnock‘s blog.

And since it wouldn’t be a birthday celebration without a birthday card, the first project I want to share with you today is this quick-and-easy birthday card I created using our new “Big Bold Words” stamp set.

This has got to be one of my favourite sets in our latest June release, since it allows for some easy-peasey, quick-and-easy cards. Just reach for your favourite pattern paper, stamp your big bold sentiment, add a couple of sequins and… voilà!

For my second project, I combined two of our new sets: the “Yappy Happy Mail” stamps and dies, along with our “Everyday Sentiment Duos” stamps. This last set is also brilliant for stamping inside your cards.

Isn’t this the perfect set for all of our crafty friends, near and far? I mean, who doesn’t love a mailbox/postbox, right!?

And last but not least, I’ve got a “Just because” card which I created using, once again, our “Big Bold Words” stamp set. The only difference is that, instead of using pattern paper, this time I created my own using a Waffle Flower Stamps set. You could basically do this with any background stamps in your collection, too!

And that’s all from me. We have such an amazing line-up and so many wonderful stops for you, I’m keeping it short and sweet. Please be sure to leave me a comment below for a chance to win. I’d love to hear which one of my three projects is your favourite! Until next time, happy hopping and thanks for making this first year so wonderful for all of us at Heffy Doodle! Your Heffy Doodle cards and projects on social media make our days, so be sure to tag us on each and every single one :o)

For today’s hop, I have two teacher thank you cards, which would be perfect for this school-year end. I created the first card using our “Teacher’s Pet” Stamps and dies, our fabulous “Teach Me Words” coordinating stamp set (so versatile, I love it!), and our new “Teacher” Heffy Cuts die (hand-lettered by Lesley herself!)

I’m thinking this card will have to go to my son’s teacher, since she’s done an amazing job with the kids on their very first year of school!

For my second project, I also used our new “Big Bold Words” stamp set. This is actually one of my favourite sets from our new release and I’ll be sharing a post soon using it to show you just how versatile it can be.

I’m thinking this card will be for my son’s teaching assistant. I’m not a teacher or a teaching assistant, but I am sure that the sentiments “Today’s the day!” and “Hooray!” are accurate portrayals of their mood on the last day of school :o)

I’m stopping here, since I know you’ll all be eager to check out the remaining stops on our hop. Sit back and enjoy all the crafty inspiration we have in store for you and remember to leave a bit of crafty love at each stop for a chance to win  a £50 voucher to the Heffy Doodle store. Until next time!
