Hi everyone! I am over at the Heffy Doodle blog today with a quick and easy pregnancy congratulations card created by mixing and matching a few of my favourite products by Heffy Doodle.
For this card, I decided to challenge myself in a number of ways. First of all, I decided to use a pastel colour palette, which I don’t normally do. Secondly, I decided to mix and match my collection of Heffy Doodle products to bring you guys some ideas on how to get as much versatility as possible from your supplies. And last but not least, I tried to keep my card design fairly clean. I think I more or less managed all three! What do you guys think?
To create the stripey background, I used our “Stitched strips of ease” Heffy cuts. The little eggs on the background are from the “Honey Bunny Boo” Stamp and Die sets, whilst the little chick poking out of the egg and the small sentiment “Heard you are eggspecting” comes from the “Eggcellent News” Stamp and Die sets. The “Congrats” sentiment is one of our standalone word Heffy cuts. For that big word die cut, I stacked a few layers of white cardstock, pressed my Versamark ink pad on top of them, sprinkled them with some Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger and hit them with my heat tool.
I think this would make a perfect card for any friend who might be expecting and doesn’t yet know the sex of their baby! Do you have kids? Did you (or would you!) chose to find out or was it a surprise? Let us know in the comments section below. Until next time, happy Heffy Doodling!
