A3-sized mini cards featuring Heffy Doodle

Hello crafty friends! Since Heffy Doodle took over the internet on the 15th of July 2017 with an AMAZING line-up for their first ever blog hop, I feel there isn’t really much need for an introduction at this stage. But in case you haven’t checked out this fun new company’s first release and pre-ordered your favourite items yet, all I will say is you have until the 31st of July to do so at a preferential rate through their Kickstarter campaign page… So what are you waiting for?! :o)

This time I’ve created a bunch of little A3-sized mini cards -half of an A2-sized card (which is 4.25 by 5.5 in)- and have drawn my inspiration inspiration from various projects by a number of other blog hop participants: emboss resist Distress Oxide backgrounds from Justine’s project, “Care Bear” from Laura’s card and the idea for the “mini cards” from Lesley.

As for most of us, time is a precious commodity for me! So what I think I enjoyed most about making these mini cards was the possibility of making 4 of them in the time it would have normally taken me to make 1 or 2.

To create these wee babies, I cut an A4 piece of cardstock in 2 before stamping it with Versamark ink, clear heat embossing it, and ink blending on it with two colours of Distress Oxide inks. After that, all I did was die-cut 4 little scalloped background panels out of that long piece of cardstock using my Waffle Flower Lacy Layers 2 Die set and… voilà! Four little babies came together in the time it would have usually taken to make 2!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and that it inspires you to create your own mini A3-sized paper hugs too. Until next time!
